"We can't help everyone, but those we can we should. " It is Cynthia's belief,

and one she lives by, that if everyone were to help just one neighbor

 more than themselves than everyone would be taken care of.

Her dearest friend, who died of Alzheimer's,  last sane words before he no longer recognized her were:

"Because of your kind heart, you will help many. I hope you have everything

you ever wanted. Remember, the kinder you are the wider your shoulders become

because you will have to carry the burden of more than yourself."

Cynthia was young when her friend, Toby,  died but his words live on.
